Why Radical Change Is Required to Address the Climate Crisis

Pettifor argues that transformative economic change is not only possible but necessary – grounded in the understanding that finance, the economy, and the ecosystem are deeply interconnected.

Ann Pettifor is the Director of PRIME – Policy Research in Macroeconomics, an Honorary Research Fellow at City University, and a longstanding fellow of the New Economics Foundation. She holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Newcastle. She is widely known for her leadership role in the Jubilee 2000 campaign, which played a crucial part in securing debt relief for dozens of the world’s poorest countries. In 2015, she joined the British Labour Party’s Economic Advisory Committee under Jeremy Corbyn. She is the author of The Case for the Green New Deal, The Production of Money, The Real World Economic Outlook, and The Coming First World Debt Crisis, and one of the contributors to The Economic Consequences of Mr Osborne.
